Core Classes

These classes are accessed through the Gateway School of Ministry website for a price of $25 each.

Following Jesus  – Discipleship is at the heart of the new life in Christ.  Jesus commanded his followers to love God, love people, and go into the world to help others become his followers.  This class will discuss what is involved in being a follower of Christ, and how you can learn to speak to others about him simply and effectively.

Know Your Bible  – How do you understand a book that was written over a span of hundreds of years, by a multitude of authors?  In this class you will learn about the types of literature the Bible contains, how to study and interpret them, and about resources that will facilitate your personal Bible study and help you engage others in learning about the Bible. The course will also cover the major doctrines of the Christian faith.

Prayer  – Prayer is how God’s will and purposes are accomplished.   This class is designed to help you understand how prayer works so you can build an effective prayer life, get answers to your prayers, and cooperate with God in building his kingdom.  Prophetic prayer, strategic intercession, and spiritual mapping are among the topics addressed.  Students will participate in prayer projects to practice what they learn.

Supernatural Christianity - Level 1 - Christianity has always been supernatural in nature.  Throughout the Bible one can see manifestations of the power of God as he works in and through his people to bring about his purposes in the earth. This class will cover subjects such as the anointing, the gifts of the Spirit, dreams and visions, and why Christianity is meant to be supernatural now just as it was in the beginning.

Spiritual Warfare - Many Christians find themselves struggling with opposition in their walk with Christ, and don’t always understand what the nature of that opposition is or how to deal with it.   “Spiritual Warfare” will take you behind the scenes to the realm of the spirit to give you a look into the conflict between light and darkness, how it affects you, and how to recognize, deal with, and overcome the attacks of Satan.

Ministry of Work - Ministry is more than what happens inside the church building on Sunday. This course will delve into the subject of how God wants to move through his people in the workplace. Subjects covered include why work matters, the testimony of work, and how the Holy Spirit wants to bring the presence and power of the Kingdom to where most people spend most of their time - the work place.
