Prerequisite for enrolling in Level 1 – completion of Grow Tracks.
Core Classes
These classes are accessed through the Gateway School of Ministry website for a price of $25 each.
Following Jesus – Discipleship is at the heart of the new life in Christ. Jesus commanded his followers to love God, love people, and go into the world to help others become his followers. This class will discuss what is involved in being a follower of Christ, and how you can learn to speak to others about him simply and effectively.
Know Your Bible – How do you understand a book that was written over a span of hundreds of years, by a multitude of authors? In this class you will learn about the types of literature the Bible contains, how to study and interpret them, and about resources that will facilitate your personal Bible study and help you engage others in learning about the Bible. The course will also cover the major doctrines of the Christian faith.
Prayer – Prayer is how God’s will and purposes are accomplished. This class is designed to help you understand how prayer works so you can build an effective prayer life, get answers to your prayers, and cooperate with God in building his kingdom. Prophetic prayer, strategic intercession, and spiritual mapping are among the topics addressed. Students will participate in prayer projects to practice what they learn.
Supernatural Christianity - Christianity has always been supernatural in nature. Throughout the Bible one can see manifestations of the power of God as he works in and through his people to bring about his purposes in the earth. This class will cover subjects such as the anointing, the gifts of the Spirit, dreams and visions, and why Christianity is meant to be supernatural now just as it was in the beginning.
Spiritual Warfare - Many Christians find themselves struggling with opposition in their walk with Christ, and don’t always understand what the nature of that opposition is or how to deal with it. “Spiritual Warfare” will take you behind the scenes to the realm of the spirit to give you a look into the conflict between light and darkness, how it affects you, and how to recognize, deal with, and overcome the attacks of Satan.
Ministry of Work - Ministry is more than what happens inside the church building on Sunday. This course will delve into the subject of how God wants to move through his people in the workplace. Subjects covered include why work matters, the testimony of work, and how the Holy Spirit wants to bring the presence and power of the Kingdom to where most people spend most of their time - the work place.

Prerequisites for enrolling in Level 2 – Successful completion of Level 1 classes and practicums, or the equivalent thereof.
Core Classes
Ministry intensives immerse students into class material along with assignments that will be completed throughout the year as they focus on their small group ministry.
Making Disciples – Jesus commanded his followers to make disciples (Matthew 28:19). Helping others learn to follow Jesus is your purpose. This class will introduce you to foundational principles in discipleship that will help you help others take their next step in their walk with God. You will learn about Jesus’ command to make disciples, how he discipled his own followers, and about the patterns and processes of discipleship he used that you can apply in your own disciple-making.
Effective Leadership – What are the qualities of a good leader? How do you lead others in an effective, productive way? How can you tell if you are a leader? You will learn how to lead in this course that covers topics such as: servant leadership, ministry management, team building, and building relationships as a leader. Five-fold ministry leaders will also be discussed.
Kingdom of Heaven – Both John the Baptist and Jesus spoke about the kingdom of heaven. Jesus referred to his message as the “gospel of the kingdom”. What did Jesus and John mean when they said, “The kingdom of heaven has come near”? In this class we will explore what the Bible says about the kingdom of heaven and how it relates to the gospel message of salvation. Topics include the nature of the kingdom, when the kingdom will come, and how the kingdom manifests in the lives of followers of Christ.
Prophecy and Healing – Prophecy and healing figure prominently in the ministries of Jesus and the early church. Healing has been called “the dinner bell” of the gospel. Paul encouraged all believers to “earnestly desire spiritual gifts, especially prophecy” (1 Corinthians 14:1). The supernatural power of the Holy Spirit is a necessary part of gospel ministry. This course will help you understand what prophecy and healing are, how these gifts work, and the importance of their role in the preaching of the gospel. You’ll learn the basics of prophetic ministry, how to recognize the prompting of the Holy Spirit, and how to pray the prayer of faith for healing the sick.
Introduction to Freedom Ministry – “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free” Paul said in Galatians. Many people struggle in their walk with God because of issues from their past that he wants to set them free from. Fallout from sin, painful life experiences, and demonic oppression and bondage all contribute to frustrating God’s people in their pursuit of his presence and purpose. This course will explain the nature of the spiritual, emotional, and physical issues that Jesus died to set us free from. Topics include inner healing, deliverance from demonic oppression, repentance and surrender to the lordship of Christ, and how to recognize when someone needs freedom.
Equipped to Win Souls – Jesus told his disciples to lift up their eyes and see the harvest in the fields (John 4:35). He said the harvest was plentiful, but that the workers were few and that they should pray for more workers to help bring it in (Matthew 9:35-38). This course will acquaint you with the ministry of evangelism and winning souls for Christ. Topics include Jesus’ ministry of soul winning, and methodologies you can use for connecting with and sharing Christ with those who don’t know him.
